Access a practical process to support yourself and others

This approach:

  • Helps us untangle powerful patterns which can limit and ultimately paralyse us
  • Bring compassion to deep-seated thinking that may trigger and exacerbate depression, guilt, shame or perfectionism
  • Can be used alongside other treatments such as antidepressants and CBT
  • Supports carers and professional practitioners
  • Makes depressed days more liveable
  • Is cost and time effective
  • Works in harmony with other self-restorative therapies

This 2 day training draws on the tools and concepts of Nonviolent Communication (NVC) to make depressed days more liveable and offer hope and means of change.

Participants will be able to:

  • Use these tools to understand the unmet needs that
    contribute to depression
  • Identify and change the self-talk that can trigger depression
  • Develop core practical skills to take away
  • Practise empathic listening to themselves and others
  • Deepen their understanding of how they can compassionately support themselves or other people who are suffering
  • Work in a safe environment with examples relevant to their own situation
  • Learn experientially in a way that is challenging, moving and supportive

What the professionals say:

Using NVC in my practice has given me helpful ways to open up communication with those struggling with depression. It has given me greater insight into how someone is experiencing their symptoms and provided practical ways to support individuals. It gives patients and carers a fresh approach to understanding and working with the feelings associated with depression. ”

Dr. Katie Cowley, GP
